Catherine Elizabeth

Dear Ones~

This card has been made for the StampTV MIUM Challenge, It Ain't Easy to be Cheesy, and the Mod Squad Challenge to make a card with a heart and some glitter. Verna Angerhofer gave me the idea to use an old photo to make a card - thanks, Verna!!!
Here's my card:
This card is very special to me. It's a photo of my beautiful grandmother, Catherine Elizabeth, on the occasion of her high school graduation. Isn't she lovely? I am so partial to this picture of her. She was always lovely like that, and I have so many wonderful memories of her, as well as my Grandfather.
I used Gina K Designs Pure Luxury 120 lb. card stock in Ivory for the base. The patterned papers are from Kaiser Craft's Tea Break Stack, and Graphic 45's In the Garden Stack. The papers are a perfect reflection of my Grammie's taste. She loved all things pink and flowery. The gold foil card stock is from the Textures and Finishes Stack by DCWV.  The oval frame is from The Paper Artist Cutting Dies by Hot off the Press, and the sprigs are a die I had in my stash. The tag is from Spellbinders Grommet Tags, and the greeting is from the GKD Forever in my Heart duo stamp set. Of course I HAD to add some Stickles for sparkle, and the little pink pearls, because she would love them.

Thanks for stopping by - and stay warm my friends.

  4. How sweet! What a precious photo and memory of your grandmother. I would say "suitable for framing" and hang her on the wall in a place of honor. Love this, Judy, very, very special!

  5. This is a gorgeous card Judy! I love the photo of your grandma, and enjoyed reading about her. The way you framed it and the flowery background made me think of Victorian times and the beautiful wallpaper. It looks like the snow and the wooden stove brings out your creative juices. Keep it coming.
