Glittery Feathers

This card was made for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge #149: Glitter Embellishments. And it WAS a challenge for me. While I love glitter and put Stickles on EVERYTHING, glitter itself and I do NOT get along. I just can't seem to do it right. So, I used glitter embossing powder in holographic, and heat embossed the glitter on.

Here's my card.

These feathers are from the new Papertrey Ink Stamp Set called Feather Finery. I just love this set, so many possibilities. There's 3 feather images in different sizes, along with lots of small stamps for added fun. You can also get a set of dies that go along with the stamp set, and the dies are spot on. They match perfectly. So I cut the shape out with the die on vellum. Then I stamped the feathers with Versamark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder, and then the holographic glitter powder. They are stunning! The photo just doesn't do the glitter justice. I can't wait to play with theses stamps more.
Patterned paper is from my stash. I mounted the whole thing on GKD Pure Luxury 120 lb paper in Ivory.

Still freezing cold here, with lots of blowing and sub-zero wind chills. Good thing I have my beloved craft room to keep me occupied. Thanks for stopping by, and stay warm my friends.

  2. That feather is a stamp? Seriously? It looks so real, and then there is the glittery look that you were able to do. That sentiment, is just like I said about you having a blog. You had the wings, you just needed to FLY!

  5. I thought they were real feathers until I read the post. This is a really beautiful card, enough to sell me on the feather set. I'm in Southeast Michigan, and it's already been a long winter. It must be worse for you guys!
